Drive Thru and Fight the Flu with Mid City Pediatrics!

Mid City Pediatrics is excited to announce our very first drive through flu vaccine clinic.  To help promote social distancing during the current pandemic, we feel that this is the perfect solution to keep our families safe!  It is essential to continue with or start getting the annual flu vaccine, especially during the current pandemic. Receiving your flu vaccine this year could help prevent an illness that could lead to unnecessary medical visits and hospitalizations. The drive through flu clinic is a great, convenient option for those of you with little ones to minimize unnecessary COVID-19 exposure.

You will need a GOLDEN TICKET when you pull through the line. Click the GOLDEN TICKET button below to download the form!  You must have this printed, filled out completely and with you ready to present to the nurse. If you do not have a form, you may come through the flu shot line and pick one up from the nurse. You will then need to proceed back through the flu shot line to receive your child’s flu vaccine. This is an important step to keep the line moving.

NO WALK-IN FLU VACCINES OR DRIVE THRU FLU SHOTS ON MONDAYS!!!!! Walk in times are the same as drive thru times.

Hours:  Wednesdays and Fridays                    9am-11:00am    and     3pm-5pm         *weather permitting*

Guidelines/requirements to utilize the drive through option:

  • You must be an established patient
  • Child must be 6 months or older
  • Child must be easily accessible
  • child should be in the second row on the passenger side of the vehicle
  • The injection may be given in the outer thigh if the child is under 30 lbs. and the upper arm if the child is over 30 lbs. These areas should be exposed when pulling through the line.
  • You will be asked to return to the back of the line if the nurse cannot get to the proper area to give the injection due to clothing restrictions. This will give you time to remove the clothing and return for the shot.
  • You will be asked to place the car in park/turn the car off.  You may also be asked to help the nurse if needed.
  • If we are unable to provide the drive through service, you will check in and remain in your car. A nurse will text you to come to the designated area inside the building to receive your flu shot at that time.  They will be given on the “well side” of the clinic if you have no cold symptoms and on the “sick side” if you have cold symptoms such as runny nose or nasal congestion. YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE A FLU SHOT IF YOU HAVE FEVER, COVID or COVID EXPOSURE/QUARANTINE. This includes parents or family members in the car. NO EXCEPTIONS!
  • We strongly encourage everyone to utilize our new service at the suggested times to minimize wait times.
  • This drive through service is for flu shots ONLY.  All other “shot only” visits must come into the building.

Drive through procedure

  • Enter our clinic from Line Ave. on the north side driveway/alley entrance. LOOK FOR THE SIGNS!
